Tuscola’s Marching Mountaineers competition field show for 2024 is Paint It Black, featuring that same exciting, driving Rolling Stones tune.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fall Performance and Contest Dates

August 10  – Exhibition – Mountie Showcase: 2pm at Tuscola. The public is invited. This is the Premier performance of the Marching Mountaineers 2024 competition field show, “Paint It Black.”

August 30  – Home Game – vs Polk County

Sept 6        – Home Game – vs McDowell

Sept 10      – Exhibition – Mountain Showcase at Pisgah Stadium

Sept 27      – Home Game – vs Franklin (Waynesville Middle School Band Night)

 

Oct 11       – Home Game – vs East Henderson (Homecoming)

Oct 18       – Away Game – vs Pisgah

 

Oct 19      – Tournament of Champions – Western Carolina U.

Tournament of Champions Results:

— 1st Place Band and 1st Place Percussion in Class 1A

— 4th Place Percussion and 5th Place Drum Majors in Finals Competition

— 10th Place Band in Finals Competition

A great first competition! Especially since the band lost two weeks of rehearsals to Hurricane Helene.

Nov 2       – Land of the Sky Contest – Enka HS (POSTPONED FROM SEPT. 28 DUE TO HURRICANE HELENE)

 

Land of the Sky Results:

— An almost clean sweep in Class 3A!

— 1st Place Band

— 1st Place Music

— 1st Place Percussion

— 1st Place Color Guard

— 2nd Place Drum Majors

And Overall:

— 3rd Place Color Guard

— 4th Place Percussion

— 5th Place Band
